About

The Penfield Ecumenical Food Shelf was founded by Joe Gersitz, Ted O’Brien, and Kathy Cummins in April 1997. Initially located in the First Baptist Church of Penfield it moved to its current location at 1618 Jackson Rd in October 2012. The food shelf serves around 200 families every week and relies on donations from local businesses, schools, families, churches, civic groups, and private. It those in need in the 14625 and 14526 zip codes and children in the Penfield Central School District.
